In episode 1 of Islands in the Stream European surfers Teiki Ballian, William Aliotti and Matt Smith land in the middle of the Indian ocean and get stuck into some of the best waves in the world. William is a fast-paced, high-octane air fiend, while Teiki is on point and hard hitting and Matt is the cruisy one. Together they comb the atolls of the Maldives for fresh swell. “It is a 2000m mountain range in the middles of the ocean” explains Matt “and we’re surfing the reef passes of these underwater mountains”. Matt’s talents are as numerous as a Swiss Army Knife’s: guide, sailor and navigator he takes Willy and Teiki on the wave hunt of a lifetime. Watch it and drool!
