"Karen Dunbar is a very talented 21 year old singer songwriter from Gorey, Co. Wexford. After finding a love of the arts at 13, Karen spent her teenage years dancing, acting and singing in musicals. Although she learned classical piano from the age of nine, it was not until she was 19 that Karen began writing poetry and music. Along with this newfound love of creative expression, she also began playing the guitar and was a natural! After spending the last three years mastering her craft, Karen Dunbar has become a familiar face at singer songwriter sessions around the southern counties, mainly Wexford and Cork. Her melodic voice enraptures her audience who instantly fall in love with her! She is a regular at Paddy Blues, arguably the most popular music venue in Gorey and has performed at the Bean & Berry, Wexford, Everyman Palace Bar and Bourbon Street Bar, Cork, various events at University College Cork and many other singer songwriter nights around the two counties! With an increasing number of loyal fans, Karen's career is set to keep soaring in the future! Her song "Reason", is featured on the compilation album "Brand New Day", which is in aid of the charity "Suicide or Survive", along with several other Gorey and Dublin based artists. She has recently recorded a 4 track demo, and is currently working on her debut E.P which has just left her followers crying for a full album- but for now Karen is focusing on her final year of Drama & Theatre Studies And Music Degree in UCC!"... "If I were to begin life again, I would devote it to music. It is the only cheap and unpunished rapture upon earth."
