Sogndal Norway is a small town situated at the end of a fjord that doesn’t see much light during January, but gets hammered by snow storms. And winter 2015 was a big one! If you’re lucky enough, when the clouds part, you'll see some breathtaking landscapes chiseled out of the endless mountain chains, basking in amazing light dying to be skied. The peaceful town feels deeply asleep, but its heart is pumping to the beat of successive snow storms and its young and sporty population loves skiing. Apart from two small lift systems open for half the week, the surrounding slopes are only accessible by skinning up. You can find high alpine terrain and amazing tree skiing runs to lap all day long and even later on, if you have a good head torch.
