Union are always innovating on their bindings and succeed in making their new products as bombproof as we’d expect after a couple of years of refinement. Two new bindings this year are the ST and the Juliet which have been built from the ground up to adhere to UNION’s philosophy of stronger is better with symmetrical highbacks and a tough Dupont chassis. After 11 years in the range, the FORCE could be looking at its replacement. This year sees more use of Forged Carbon in the range in both the Ultra and Travis Rice pro models. It’s not all high-tech super aggressive bindings though, the Ultra and Contact Pro have improved bushings which will transfer more power through the board and give you a better feel for how the its flexing. The Atlas has a new asymmetrical highback which allows for better tweaking without losing responsiveness. There is a new, grippy toe strap that can be found on every binding including the FORCE, which has had some minor tweaks.
