Anna de Ferran was born in London and raised in America by her British mum and Brazilian dad. As such, she has always maintained a healthy amount of cultural schizophrenia: a love of blue jeans and Einstein bagels, Burberry raincoats and crumpets, Brazilian bikinis and homemade brigadeiros.
As a child growing up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she wanted to be a spy or a pop superstar. At five years old she memorized the words of every Top-10 hit and would give regular concerts from the back seat of her mother's car. At age 11 she set off for boarding school in Oxford, England. There her song writing began in full flow as she filled notebooks with original lyrics. In 2011 Anna and her friends started a band called Northmoor when she was 16. They composed songs together and after quite a bit of positive response recorded several tracks. This led to a great deal of interest in Anna's distinctive voice, catchy melodies and mind-bending lyrics.
Today, as her career moves into overdrive, Anna isn't just playing major clubs in South Florida like Revolution Live and Will Call Miami, but can also be found on stage in various venues ranging from Detroit to Los Angeles and in her native London.
Anna is currently writing and recording as a solo artist. She is no longer pursuing a career as a spy. Or so she says.
TRIVIA: Anna is the daughter of Indy 500 winner and two-time INDYCAR racing champion Gil de Ferran.
