PRESENTED BY JOANNE COLLINS

PRODUCED BY PABLO GOMEZ, VIDA VISION & JOANNE COLLINS

THE LACE ARE:

'Daniel' Muyombo - Guitar & vocals: Born in Kinshasa Daniel performed with some of the greatest and best known Congolese acts ever formed, including Luambo Franco's OK Jazz and Zaiko Langa Langa (among many more) before moving to Ireland. One of the original founding members of Ireland's first professional all-African band, Daniel's voice and guitar style are truly from the golden age of Kinois' Rumba/Soukous and his experience of performing with many mainstream Congolese bands back home in Kinshasa reinforces the authentic feel and 'real sound' of Congo Kinshasa.

Mbiko Fololo Oscar 'Troca' - Drums. Mr Reliable, always on the beat, and one of the founder members, Troca was also born in Kinshasa. Troca formerly played with Mbonda Africa, Victoria Eleison, Anti Choc and Zaiko Langa Langa before moving to Ireland and joining The Lace. Troca is undoubtedly the best African Kit drummer currently living in Ireland

'Serge' Kamulete - Bass guitar & vocals: Born in Kinshasa with Congolese & Angolan parents, Serge joined the Lace in Cork in 2005, having previously played with Promise Musica, Madilu System & Victoria Eleison at home in Kinshasa. Serge also played in a world fusion band in Dublin where the repertoire was loosely described as Celtic/Jazz/Rumba.

'Abdul' Mkosi - 2nd (Rhythm) Guitar 'The Quiet One' keeping the rumba rhythms tight and flowing in true Congolese style. Abdul is one of the founder members and used to play with Jean Bosco, Bella Bella & Super Bella Bella back home in The Congo

'Kevin' Senga - Vocals, dance, stix & shakers. Also born in Kinshasa and another original member of The Lace, Kevin is the key mover in the band with his crucial Soukous dance steps and backing vocals. Before moving to Ireland Kevin was a member of a Church Choir in Nairobi Kenya

John Tampwhou & Jean Djamba -- Vocals & Dance two new members are always keen to keep the crowd moving with their sweet harmonies and wild gyrations. John was one of the founding members of The Elikya Choir in Limerick, one of Ireland's best known and enduring African choirs. Jean Djamba (The Big One in the middle) will be defying gravity whilst challenging his fellow performers along with the audience to dance just that little bit closer to the ground.
