Is Turkey in Europe or Asia? The age-old question is still open to debate as far as the Turkish are concerned. One thing many can agree on is that that Izmir, Turkey's third most populace city, is the most European-feeling of them all. It also has a small but growing horde of dedicated climbers due, in part, to the close proximity of Kaynaklar and Sarikaya, some seriously juicy sport climbing crags.

In their travels around Turkey, Caroline and James hadn't run into very many Turkish climbers so they are pleasantly surprised to rock up in Izmir and encounter a friendly bunch of young Turks who are trying to promote the potential of their home crag both within Turkey and abroad. And what a crag it is. With caves and arches like the ones in this video so close to the city, we would be keeping them a secret for as long as we could.
