LOS ARMADILLOS; always on the trail oft the armadillo the Diddley Daddys Dominique Muench (dr), Michel Muench (b, voc), Bernie Sprenger (voc, git) and Juerg Zimmermann (tr) rattle through their eternal musical CinemaScope Roadmovie with plenty of hearty Rock’n’Roll, Tex Mex, a good measure of Country and lots of Soul.
Beginning in the mid-eighties as garage-rock band, The Armadillos underwent several metamorphoses to today’s Los Armadillos with roots from Dr. John's New Orleans over Doug Sahm's San Antonio back to Memphis Scene and of course to Bo Diddley's Chicago and on and on. The self-composed songs are joyful mixtures of all these gorgeous influences.
Dust in the nose and music in the heart with enthusiasm for good songs and crunchy sounds Los Armadillos have seen a lot of live perfomances and some recordings on the side. Celebrating good old Rock’n’Roll but again and again with a new twist ... and then diving into the sound of a glorious sunset - what else - exactly; like our man in Memphis sang: True love travels on a gravel road.
