Los Angeles four-piece NeW bEAt FUNd is releasing their Matt Wallace-produced debut album Sponge Fingerz on June 16th. Sponge Fingerz doesn’t fit neatly into one genre, instead it covers all the bases of Southern California while inviting the rest of the world in. First base might be the surf-rock and dub-heavy vibes of the coastline, while rounding second brings up the hip-hop beats and sick raps of South Central. Sprint over to third and pick up on the arty, indie hip and punk stuff from the city’s downtown heart. Finally, slide headfirst into the garage pop and heartfelt jams of Ventura County and the Valley, the band’s true home. For the past two years, NeW bEAt FUNd has been touring across the country, playing everywhere from Warped Tour to shows with blink-182 and 3OH!3 to local frat parties.
