Aspiring to bring back classic sounds from the 50s and 60s, Niles Rooker and Jeff Meloen started a blues/rock duo in August of 2014. “It was just two friends getting together every day to play muddy blues songs and make the neighbor’s lives difficult.” –Rooker. With the addition of bassist, Ryan Lemp, Rooker was able to achieve a wider dynamic of songwriting as well as a thicker sound as a band. With a plethora of new originals, the trio has performed in familiar places such as the Mercy Lounge, The End, and other hotspots throughout Nashville, TN.
September 12 brings the release of Niles Rooker’s first EP entitled, "Beach Talk". The five-track album was recorded at Dark Horse Studios in Franklin, TN, mixed by Chris Mara at Welcome To 1979, and mastered by Alex McCollough at Yes Master.
“The Beach Talk EP is a perfect combination of yesteryear tinged vocals, great hooks, and awesome songwriting. The title track is lush with tongue-in-cheek lyrics that puts a smile on my face every time I hear it." - Chris Mara
