Without crossing paths before, Los Lagartos started playing together with the idea of playing covers of The Smiths and Joy Division at the drummer's garage. After the first rehearsal, they realized there was chemistry so they gave up the idea of playing covers and started creating and playing their own songs.
In June 2015, the power trio released their first EP “La Luz del Mediodía” in which you can feel the Manchester sound of the 80's scene, with jangle guitars, solid percussion and a constant bass line with a bit of funk at moments. The EP was released by the independent label Faro Discos and had good acceptance in the independent music scene of Lima.
This has been the year of Los Lagartos, they shared stage with international bands like Bestia Bebé (Argentina) and Warpaint (USA). Also, thanks to Converse Rubber Tracks, they had the opportunity to record a couple songs with Grammy winner Hector Castillo.
The band is actively playing in several bars in Lima promoting their EP. And while trying to get used to their new adult lives and overcoming their existential doubts, they have started to create new songs for their expected LP.
