Brazil's culture is a rich mosaic of many cultures of the world. Pedra Branca, from Sao Paulo, plays ethnical instruments and electronic timbres to create Brazilian experimental music.
Founded in 2001 by Luciano Sallun and Aquiles Ghirelli the band brings an unique and proper way of making music in the world.
With fifteen years could be seen as one of the biggest names of Brazilian world music and the largest group of chillout lounge Brazilian.
In Brazil managed to be reference for great projects and national and international DJs, as well as reference for Brazilian audience.
Touring in August 2008 in festivals in Portugal - Bons Sons Festival and Boom Festival.
GEM, Grupo Experimental de Música, integrates musical works, luthiery and visual arts, employing different kinds of materials found day-by-day, recycling and giving them new meanings.
Idealized by Fernando Sardo, in Santo Andre, Sao Paulo, GEM was formed in 2003 by Fábio Marques, Luciano Sallun, Rodrigo Olivério, Bira Azevedo, Flávio Cruz and Fernando Sardo, himself.
Components build different gears with which they research new sound forms.
Moreover, GEM proposes workshops that encourage the experimentation and utilization of recyclable materials to create music, making children, teenagers and adults rethink their relationship with music.
GEM performed in Brazil and in foreign countries, in highlighted cultural spaces as the 28th Bienal de Sao Paulo and Festival Europalia Brasil 2011, Belgium.
