I MOLOTOY sono un magmatico mix di elettronica, musica per colonne sonore e post-rock, tanto da definirsi "postronic". Anche il monicker evoca una dimensione ludica ed esplosiva al tempo stesso, che si concretizza, dal vivo, nell'uso di visual e luci led colorate in sincrono con l'audio.
A Gennaio 2013 pubblicano il loro primo album “The Low Cost Experience” (Modern life, distribuzione Audioglobe). Il disco riscuote un buon successo di critica e pubblico, il gruppo si ritrova a suonare in giro per l’Italia condividendo il palco con artisti come Pelican, Nosaj-Thing, Civil-Civic, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion e Mokadelic. I brani godono di diversi passaggi radiofonici nazionali e internazionali, come Radio 2 (Musical Box di Raffaele Costantino), Radio Brussel, Web Radio Rai, Radio Rock e circuiti indipendenti. Nel 2016 i Molotoy hanno terminato il loro secondo album “The most intelligent child” che vede la partecipazione di The Niro (Davide Combusti) nel brano “Disappear” e di Eeris nel brano “Float”. La produzione artistica è stata affidata a Francesco Catitti (Electric Diorama, Michele Bravi).
In questi anni i Molotoy hanno anche completato il loro “personale” live, mettendo a punto un nuovo spettacolo di luci al led RGB, con 256 pixel led indipendenti, colorati e pronti a muoversi in sync con le sequenze. Un viaggio sonoro e visivo che rappresenta una straordinaria realtà nel panorama indipendente italiano e non solo.
MOLOTOY are a complex mix of electronic, soundtrack and post-rock music, and can be defined themselves "postronic". Their monicker evoques a ludic and explosive dimension at the same time, that shows up live, with visual and led RGB lights audio synch show. In December 2012 they released their first LP: “The Low Cost Experience” (Modern life/Audioglobe). TLCE obtained a pretty good success from the critic and audience, so the band started to play all around Italy sharing the stage with national and international artists such as Pelican, Civil Civic, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion, Management del Dolore Post Operatorio and Nosaj Thing. The tracks had a heavy rotation on Radio 2 (Musical Box by Raffaele
Costantino), Radio Brussel, Web Radio Rai, Radio Rock and independent networks.
During this year Molotoy ended recording their second album, featuring The Niro (Davide Combusti) in the track “Disappear” and EEris in the track “Float”. At the moment they are looking for a new label and a new management who can take care of the promotional support of their new LP. Last year Molotoy completed their “unique” live, setting up a new led RGB lights show, with a independent, coloured 256 pixel, ready to move in synch with visual sequences. A sound and visual trip which represents a brilliant extraordinary anomaly on the Italian independent scene.
