Steve Eales released his debut solo album in 2007 in the tough niche of the country music genre.
Despite his style being harder edged, rock driven music, he still made his mark and the album collected 17 national awards. Known to always push the boundaries with his writing and recordings Steve's second album, once again packed with songs of great story content, struggled at the restraints of traditional country music. But it too gained recognition with radio chart positions in Australia, USA and Canada and scored a bunch more awards including the prestigious APRA Award for Country Composition.
If the term "crossover" is still applicable in today's popular music, Steve's new musical direction would be the epitome of that title. The list of co-performers he's shared stages with includes Keith Urban, kasey Chambers, Darryl Braithewaite, Jimmy Barnes, Ross Wilson just to name a few.
Skillfully swinging the axes crafted by Maton Guitars, Steve is an endorsed Maton artist. Consequently his tracks are guitar heavy and his performances feature some esquisite picking and riffing. Steve's ability for capturing your imagination in his story lyrics is proven song after song.
