Putting the Mountain Back into Biking - Gareth Van Dyk heads out on a freeride mountain biking mission and just has 'one of those offs' that can really ruin your day...

This Freeride Mountain Biking mission took place up in the Peaks above Crested Butte, Colorado. There are many steep downhill mountain bike lines to be ridden if you are willing to hike your downhill MTB up into the beautiful backcountry surrounding the West Elk Wilderness.

On this particular summer day it took nearly five hours of hike-a-biking to get to his zones before descending... and dealing with the consequences of his actions.
