Singer-songwriter Karin Martins has the passion for MPB at the heart of her work.
In her repertoire, musician blends her own compositions with her signature in reinterpretations of Brazilian music's greatest names
With a soft voice, the singer Karin Martins awoke to music at the age of three, when she strummed the strings of her grandfather's guitar and learned her first melodies. At the age of 11, she got her own, of which she never separated again.
Early on, Karin began to study music in depth. At age 12, she joined the Music and Technology School (EM&T) and had renowned masters who guided her throughout her career, including names like Viviane Keller, Hercílio Ramos and Felipe de Abreu.
At 14 years old, she wrote "Castelo de Cartas", her first composition, which she still maintains in her repertoire. At the age of 15, she began her professional career at her mother's friend pizzeria and soon started performing in bars, theaters and clubs throughout the city.
Gifted with a soft and engaging voice, the singer conquered Argentina, where she was invited to play Brazilian songs in several clubs, such as "La Vida Dirá". Still in the land of our Latin brothers, the singer participated in Marcela Viciano's show.
Her taste for MPB comes from family. Evening parties were always filled by Brazilian popular music. In her musical career, Karin mixes the roots of MPB with Samba, Jazz and Groove.
Today, Karin Martins lives integrally for music, and divides her time between her career and vocal preparation for singers and actors.
Born in Sao Paulo, at the age of 28, this demanding and perfectionist Gemini launched her first album "Quem é você?" in 2016, produced by Paulo Vaz, keyboard player for the band Supercombo.
