PRESENTED BY LAMA-SEA DEAR
BROUGHT TO YOU IN ASSOCIATION WITH STUDIO LOUNGE | THE LIVE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE FOR TOTNES

Morning Rush are a young Exeter based folk/pop band who are making quite a name for themselves with their melodic songs, strong vocal harmonies and piano-rich sound.

Having gained recognition from the legendary Ray Davies, and Steve Knightley (Show of Hands), for their song-writing skills - they are now following in the footsteps of James Morrison and Ben Howard in their aim to put the West Country firmly on the musical map of Great Britain.

Last year ended on a high for Morning Rush when they got the opportunity to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in Nov' after winning the 'Music For Youth' song-writing award at the HMV Institute in Birmingham. They were also the youngest band last year (following on from sessions by Steve Harley and Benjamin Francis Leftwich) to perform in the now famous 'Songs from the Shed'.

The New Year saw the release of a new EP for Morning Rush. Produced by Show of Hands producer Mark Tucker - who has worked with P J Harvey and new rising star Maz Totterdell - it follows on from their 'Racetrack' CD released two years ago a track of which was played on Tom Robinson's Radio 6 BBC Intro Show.
Support slots last year for Show of Hands at Sidmouth Festival (to a sell-out crowd of 1,200), and Billy Bragg at The Alternative Festival in Exeter, are now followed this year with Morning Rush as support for The Futureheads at the launch of the Station Sessions Festival in March after the band.

The Station Sessions is the first festival of many the band are booked to perform at this year, including Larmer Tree Festival, Lemonfest, Aeon, Exmouth Festival and Tonefest.

"They have made extraordinary progress in their writing and playing over the last two years. They have a fine ear for melody and lyric, and now regular public performing has added confidence and attitude to their well-crafted material".
Steve Knightley -- Show of Hands

"Morning Rush have a level of maturity and professionalism beyond their years. I expect to hear a lot from Morning Rush in the coming years" Jon Earl - Songs from The Shed
