The Black Diamond Carbon Convert is an awesome ski for weight-conscious backcountry missions where technical precision and soft snow performance are equally important. At 2900g/pr (180cm) the Carbon Convert weighs 380 grams less per pair than the original version thanks to its carbon fiber construction and a paulownia wood core. this makes it one of the lightest skis in its class. A 105mm waist is versatile enough to perform both in powder as well as on variable terrain and in conjunction with the rockered tip provide plenty of float in powder. BD's unique Formula One construction relies on three ribs running the length of the ski to provide torsional rigidity for railing turns and blasting through crud.
