Forbes Ranks Mark Wahlberg as Most Overpaid Actor of 2017 Marky Mark won't like this news, despite raking in $68 million pretax this year. The ranking is based off movies made before June 2017. For every $1 Wahlberg earned, his movies received $4.40. Forbes noted that 2016's oil spill drama Deepwater Horizon barely made a profit off its $110 million budget. Coming in second was Christian Bale after the poor performance of "The Promise." Bale's movies earned $6.70 per dollar he was paid. Channing Tatum came in third, followed by Denzel Washington and Brad Pitt.
