CNN’s Jim Acosta tweeted on Tuesday that he was told he could not ask questions at President Trump’s signing of the National Defense Authorization Act.

CNN's Jim Acosta tweeted on Tuesday that he was told he could not ask questions at President Trump's signing of the National Defense Authorization Act.
"[Sarah Huckabee Sanders] issued a warning to me. She said if I asked a question of Trump at the bill signing 'I can't promise you will be allowed into a pool spray again.' Sorry Sarah.. we won't be intimidated,' Acosta wrote.
Though Acosta asked a question anyway, he did not get a response. He'd requested that Trump clarify his Tuesday morning tweet.
"Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Chuck Schumer and someone who would come to my office 'begging' for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump. Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!" the president had tweeted.
Not long after Acosta revealed the warning he'd been given, NBC chief White House correspondent Hallie Jackson weighed in on the matter.
"@Acosta was at the bill signing as part of the rotating pool that reps all 5 tv networks," Jackson wrote on Twitter, "And to be clear: this is not how the pool works. @POTUS doesn't have to answer questions - but we can sure ask them."
