Economists are concerned about an amendment to the inland revenue board of Malaysia act 1995, which if passed, will allow Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to set up an investment panel within the inland revenue board (IRB) to make investments. Former Chief Economist Lee Heng Guie said personally he does not see the need for the amendments to be made.
