GST to give govt extra RM2.5B income next year

The Second Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the goods and services tax (GST) due for implementation next year, is expected to provide the government an additional revenue of RM2.5 billion in 2015 and about RM8 billion in 2016. Husni said the subsidy rationalisation study is still ongoing and that the government will decide whether to impose the GST on petrol once the results of the study are out.
