Democrats Agree To Discuss Year-End Agenda With Republican Leaders & Trump

On Monday, Democratic leaders in Congress said that they had accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to meet and discuss year end legislative priorities, including efforts to fund the government and prevent a shutdown. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and House of Representatives Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, after canceling a meeting with Trump last week following a disparaging note on Twitter by the president, said in a statement that they hoped the president would remain open-minded about reaching a deal with Democrats.
