Walmart has pulled from its website a t-shirt emblazoned with a hostile message that targeted journalists.

Walmart has pulled from its website a t-shirt emblazoned with a hostile message that targets journalists, reports the New York Post.

"Rope. Tree. Journalist. SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED," it reads.
The removal followed a request from the Radio Television Digital News Association, or RTDNA.
Dan Shelley, the executive director of RTDNA, noted in a letter to Walmart that such sentiments are generally intended to "at the least...inflame the passions of those who either don't like, or don't understand, the news media. At worst, they openly encourage violence targeting journalists."
"We believe they are particularly inflammatory within the context of today's vitriolic political and ideological environment," he further noted.
The New York Post notes that Walmart was quick to remove the item, which was being offered by third-party seller Teespring.com.
In a response to the RTDNA, the retail giant said, "Walmart.com does appreciate feedback like this so that offensive material does not appear on our website."
