Guido Martin Falaschi (1 October 1989 – 13 November 2011) was an Argentine racecar driver who died after the serious injuries received in an accident while the final stretch of the Competition of Turismo Carretera at the race track Juan Manuel Fangio, of the city of Buenos Aires of Balcarce.

The 22-year-old Falaschi could not be resuscitated at the local hospital he was rushed to and where he fought for 40 minutes for his life, according to the press chief of the Association of Road Traffic Actors (ACTC), Ariel Bandi, In televised declarations.

"Unfortunately, nothing more could be done," said Bandi, who chose not to speculate on the causes of the multiple accident, which involved at least five drivers.

It all started when "The Little Prince" could not dodge the straggler Leonel Larrauri, was touched by Guillermo Ortelli and got confused. His car headed straight for the containment tires, where he bounced, returned to the track and was later struck by Néstor Girolami.

Falaschi, a native of Las Parejas, province of Santa Fe, was one of the drivers competing for the Gold Cup that defines the champion of the category. Speaking to the press, he had referred to the accident suffered the previous day by Agustín Canapino: "We walk as fast as you can, knowing that these things can happen."

His career started in karting, until in 2005, at age 15, he took the first big leap by moving to the Formula Renault Elf. In 2008 he was awarded the Formula Renault 1.6 and opened the doors of the TC, the most popular category of national motorsport. Last year he was crowned in the Top Race V6 and began to dream big, until he came across the tragedy in the afternoon of Balcarce.

The final of the fifth races of the Gold Cup of Tourism Carretera disputed 13 November 2011 in the revitalized Autódromo Juan Manuel Fangio in Balcarce had the saddest and unexpected outcome, when in the last round the driver of Las Parejas Guido Falaschi lost his life in an accident. The outcome came in the final lap with Mauro Giallombardo (Ford) and Falaschi (Ford) as leaders on track. There, Leonel Larrauri's Dodge was running slow in the inner sector of a curve and hit the rubber tires. Giallombardo and Falaschi tried to dodge him, but the latter skidded and struck violently against a "protected" slope of land by two rows of untied tires, which flew through the air and returned the green Ford Falcon to the track. There, he was impacted in the front by Guillermo Ortelli's Chevrolet and the uncontrolled Falcon made a complete turn and was crossed in the middle of the track to be violently rammed by the Torino of the Cordovan Néstor Girolami. Falaschi, was removed from the vehicle by Dr. Rodolfo Ballinotti and then transferred by ambulance to the Municipal Hospital of Balcarce, where he tried to revive him for 40 minutes.

The circuit of Balcarce, inaugurated in January of 1972 with a race of Prototipos International Sport gained by Jhon Hine with a Chevron, could not conceal the passage of time and its location, in the middle of a mountain range like the Zonda sanjuanino, that it Make it dangerous because of the lack of escape routes before the exit of a car. On Friday, Agustín Canapino (Chevrolet) was unhurt from a sideline at more than 240 km/h by overcoming the rubber fence and falling almost shattered by the breakage of a flexible brake. It was the first alert that did not reach to stop the fatal outcome of raceday.

The circuit was resurfaced, almost five seconds down by the new grip on the track, but there were substantial improvements in safety and what is more regrettable, difficult to reach because they are outdated scenarios.

The TC has several changes in the folder for the immediate future. It will increase the power of its engines, provide safety elements such as cage and structural pipes to all drivers to join quality certified by the ACTC and on the other hand, finish signing an intention letter to run on a street circuit to be staged in Punta Mogotes And has in mind to run a race of long duration with change of pilots, possibly in Buenos Aires. Is there consistency between having more power and running between walls of cement in the streets? The tree covers the forest and according to a show called TC, everything seems valid and the death of a pilot, part of his statistics.
