An image showing Christmas decorations at the White House has gone viral for an unexpected reason.

The White House on Monday released a video showing Melania Trump getting the place holiday ready with some truly jaw-dropping, lush, and glistening Christmas decorations.
Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's spokesperson, also tweeted a photo of one of the hallways, but the angle and the lighting gave the space a seriously eerie feel.
Gizmodo shared the picture of the under lit braches casting a foreboding shadow on the ceiling and wrote, "Forget the Upside Down, the White House at Christmas is the scariest place of 2017."
The site also published a list of various popular culture "festive comparisons."
They include, "Basically any episode of American Horror Story," "That spot where Voldemort drank a unicorn's blood," and, "The road to the Cabin in the Woods, somewhere in between the creepy gas station attendant and all the death in the universe."
The scene sparked the imaginations of Twitter users as well, with one posting an image from 'Children of the Corn' and writing, "I heard they are getting a new children's choir to sing carols this year."
Other comments include, "Are Christmas decorations supposed to give you creeping anxiety and a feeling of lingering dread?" and, "I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers for whomever died. Props for the super creepy funeral tho."
