House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi called Representative John Conyers an "icon" for the United States of America. She explained he has worked a lot to protect women and urged "due process" before making any conclusions about the representative. Conyers is facing accusations of sexual harassment and his office have even confirmed a settlement of $27,000 to a former staffer who says she was fired for resisting the congressman’s sexual advances.
