Funny footage has emerged from China of an out-of-control electric tricycle doing doughnuts in the middle of a road.

The video, filmed in Taiyuan City in northern Shanxi Province on November 16, shows the vehicle suddenly taking off and turning tight circles in the road.

The owner clings on, desperately trying to slow the runaway trike but it slams into a nearby building and loses one wheel.

Fortunately, no-one was hurt in the incident.
