Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius' prison sentence was more than doubled to 13 years and five months on Friday. The supreme court of appeal accepted the prosecutors’ argument that the original jail term of six years for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was “shockingly lenient.” Pistorius has served over a year of his initial sentence. Pistorius killed Ms Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013 after shooting four times through a closed toilet cubicle door in his home.
