Father and son embark on world's first expedition to the South Pole using only renewable technologies

On 15 November, 2017, Robert Swan and his son Barney will attempt to trek 600 miles to the South Pole in 60 days using only renewable energy sources. The South Pole Energy Challenge is the first-ever expedition to the South Pole powered solely by clean energy technologies – including Shell's advanced biofuel. The Swans aim to inspire younger generations about the importance of clean energy use and how people can collectively lessen their carbon footprint to help the planet transition to a cleaner future.
