Robert Mugabe Resigns As Zimbabwe's Leader

Robert Mugabe has resigned as Zimbabwe's President, bringing an end to his 37 years of rule. The announcement comes six days after the military seized control of the capital. Parliament had begun the impeachment process. Mugabe, who ruled the country with an iron fist, is the only leader the nation has known since it achieved independence from Britain in 1980. Despite repeated calls for the 93-year-old leader to step down, he had clung to his position.
