Adam Deacon's Career Spiraled Downwards After BAFTA Win

Adam Deacon won the Rising Star Award at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2012. But he says he was naive to think that winning that award broke him into the mainstream. Instead he told The Guardian newspaper that the industry did not know what to do with him. Deacon said his American agent did not even know who he was and small film casting agents stopped calling him because they thought he would be too big for smaller films. The actor thinks his "Kidulthood" franchise scared people off.
