Bob Menendez has a massive groundswell of support, despite the federal corruption charges that hang over his head. His trial for those charges ended in a hung jury last week. That leaves him free to run for reelection in 2018. Menendez could be retried. However, many legal experts told political website fivethirtyeight that a conviction is unlikely.
