Artists seek their voice in Turkey's difficult climate

Turkey's art world is under pressure from increasing authoritarianism since the 2016 attempted overthrow of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Much of the work on show at the Istanbul Biennale, the most important contemporary art event in Turkey that ended on November 12th, centred on the theme of freedom of expression - or a lack thereof.
