The demand for separate religious status for Lingayats in Karnataka is only growing. The community leaders have now set new demands and set a deadline for the state government to act on it. During a rally on Sunday, prominent Lingayat leader Mathe Mahadevi put forth five demands along with setting a deadline for the Siddaramaiah government as part of the community's fight for separate religious tag.The rally that took place at National college grounds in Bengaluru saw prominent politicians and Lingayat leaders apart from thousands from the community come together.
