in a living person? According to a news study, brains scans found the presence of a protein that indicates damaged neural cells. One of the 14 retired NFL players found to have this protein was later diagnosed with CTE after his death. Dr. Julian Bailes, who participated in the study, told ABC News, "and then to have that person die and it correlates with the autopsy." Bailes said further research needs to be conducted to make a conclusive correlation between the protein and CTE.
