At least 14 peoplewere killed in the Athens area on Wednesday, November 15, after flash flooding overturned cars and left highways impassable, according to news reports.Of the 14 people killed, 12 were found in the small Athens suburb of Mandra, which was said to have been hardest hit by the storm, according to the Associated Press. Two additional bodies were said to have been recovered by the coast guard. Officials said they believed they were swept to sea by floodwaters.Drone videos, shared by the University of Athens to Facebook, show the extent of flooding in hard-hit Mandra and nearby Nea Peramos, both of which are located on the outskirts of Athens.Torrential rains were forecasted to impact the area again on Thursday, November 16.
