Civilization 2 - P1 ► Abandonware Adventures!

Civilization 6 announced, so lets step back in time to Civ 2. Works perfectly except the no music issue which I explain below.\r

Although some games may be officially or technically labelled freeware, I will count it as a possible choice in thisas long as it fits the definition above.\r

How to run Civilization II on modern operating systems:\r
1. Youll need a disk or ISO to be mounted on your computer\r
2. Install the game, if youre getting a new copy try get the Multiplayer Gold Edition (MGE)\r
3. Patch the game with the patch here otherwise itll crash whenever theres a text box : \r
(Theres more info there too about getting it to work)\r
4. Set the game file to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP and to run as administrator\r
5. No music? If you want music to play, the game disk MUST be located in D:/ drive, whether its a physical disk or ISO. There is no workaround for this! D:/ drive only! Thats just how it works.\r
6. Have fun! The window can be resized however you like so you dont need anything special to run it in widescreen.\r
