Ancient Egyptian Tomb Recreated In Switzerland
  • 6 years ago
It's one of the great wonders of the ancient world: the magnificent tomb of Pharaoh Seti I, the most elaborate and beautifully decorated in Egypt's Valley of the Kings near Luxor. And in an extraordinary feat of modern technology, a specialist art company, Factum Arte, has begun a five-year project to 3D-print a perfect copy of it. The eventual aim is to install it in Egypt on a site not far from the original. The first two facsimile chambers to be scanned and printed are now on display at "Scanning Seti: The Regeneration of a Pharaonic Tomb," a new exhibition at the Antikenmuseum Basel in Switzerland.
