AT&T Chief Claims U.S. Government Has Not Pushed Him To Sell CNN
  • 6 years ago

AT&T boss Randall Stephenson said both he, and the Department of Justice, were “highly disturbed” by reports that a CNN sale is the sticking point for approval of a Time Warner takeover. Stephenson said on Thursday that he never been told that the price of getting the deal done was selling CNN. He did not make the same promise to keep DirecTV, however. Stephenson punted on that question in his interview, citing a sudden need for confidentiality in these negotiations.
