Mitt Romney Calls On Roy Moore To Drop Out Of Race

Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney urged Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore to drop out of the race due to sexual assault allegations. Romney wrote on Twitter, "Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections. I believe Leigh Corfman. Her account is too serious to ignore." A Washington Post article published Thursday revealed that Corfman alleges that Moore had initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and he was 34. Three other women also said Moore pursued relationships with them when they were teenagers. Senator John McCain said, "The allegations against Roy Moore are deeply disturbing and disqualifying. He should immediately step aside and allow the people of Alabama to elect a candidate they can be proud of."
