Subramanian Swamy questions Jaya TV raids conducted by I-T Department | Oneindia News

Casting doubts that the multiple raids conducted by the IT department on the offices of Jaya TV and several close aides of sidelined AIADMK leader VK Sasikala on Thursday morning as a part of its "Operation Clean Money" are 'politically motivated', BJP leader Subramanian Swamy raised a question about why no similar raids were being conducted against DMK supremo M Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi. Although in his tweet, the Rajya Sabha BJP MP did not fully write the name of Karunanidhi and Kanimozhi, those who follow politics in the country could easily infer what Swamy wanted to say. Swamy tweeted “In addition to data on Sasikala in the courts I had given a 30 page Note to Authorities on MK's and daughter's frauds. Why no raids yet?". The searches at the Tamil television channel, which is perceived to be politically disposed of in favour of deposed AIADMK leaders Sasikala and her nephew TTV Dhinakaran, were conducted over alleged tax evasion.
