The Third T20I at Thiruvanthapuram was hit by rain and the teams had to decide the series in a 8 overs per-side contest, which was won by hosts India by a margin of 6 runs. India scored 67/5 in their 8 overs while New Zealand could only manage to score 61/6 and conceded the series.,,It was the first international match in the city after nearly three decades and the whole stadium was like a sea of blue as the crowd wore India's colors and made lot of noise even when the players were playing football to keep themselves occupied while the groundstaff tried to dry the ground.,,The rain meant players had to find different methods to switch off and not focus on whether the match will start or not. One such innovative method was invented by various members of both teams including MS Dhoni, as they played a game that they called 'soccer volleyball'.
