According to a recent Politico profile about Trump's so-called "loyal lieutenant," Keith Schiller, "when the White House kitchen staff couldn't match the satisfaction of a quarter-pounder with cheese (no pickles, extra ketchup) and a fried apple pie, it was Schiller, bodyguard and Trump whisperer, who would head down New York Avenue to McDonald's on a stealth fast food run."
Despite the president's wealth and high-end tastes, he has openly talked about his fondness for fast food.
"I think all of those places, Burger King, McDonald's, I can live with it. The other night I had Kentucky Fried Chicken. Not the worst thing in the world," he told CNN's Anderson Cooper in 2016.
He attributed part of his preference for these chains to hygiene.
"I like cleanliness. I like clean," Trump said. "And the one thing about the big franchises...one bad hamburger, you can destroy McDonald's. One bad hamburger, you take Wendy's and all these other places and they're out of business. You can't do it."
"I think you're better off going there than maybe someplace that you have no idea where the food is coming from," Trump added. "It's a certain standard. But I think the food's good, and I eat it very carefully."
He has, in the past, posted separate pictures of himself eating McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken aboard his private plane.
As for Schiller, he stepped down from his White House post in September but has been called back to D.C. to testify on Capitol Hill as part of the ongoing Russia investigation.
