Dodging toll gate, bike riders ram into electricity pole
  • 6 years ago
Three men paid the price for trying to dodge a toll gate when they crashed into an electricity pole in Raisen, India.

A CCTV camera at the toll gate recorded the accident on October 27.

The three men avoided the exit lane meant for two-wheelers and took the main road, which was free of four wheelers.

They made no attempt to stop at the toll gate and tried to sneak past in the narrow space between the barrier and the road.

In the CCTV footage, the bike can be seen moving too fast and out of control.

They scrape against a traffic barricade and then crash into a electricity pole before falling into the road. The metal pole dented under the impact.

The local police identified the men as Dhamender, Nepal and Ganesh, all residents of Raisen and in their early 20s.

The three men were injured in the accident and were moved to the Raisen district hospital in an ambulance owned by the toll company.

The condition of Dhamender is said to be serious.

The police are probing the cause of the incident and checking if the bike had a brake failure.

The men may be guilty of violating multiple traffic rules besides reckless driving. None of them was wearing a helmet. Also, three of them rode one bike while the law limits the number of riders to two.
