Police in New York say they are gathering evidence for a possible arrest warrant against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Dozens of women claim the film mogul sexually harassed or assaulted them over the past three decades.

Among them is actress Paz de la Huerta who has been interviewed by the NYPD over her claims that Weinstein raped her twice at at her apartment in 2010.

New York City Police Department Deputy Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce told a news conference on Friday that the alleged victim “put forth a credible and detailed narrative.”

“I will say we have an actual case going forward,” he told reporters.

“If this person was still in New York and it was recent, we would go right away and make the arrest, no doubt.”

Asked what made her story so credible, he replied:

“The ability to articulate each and every movement of the crime: where she was, where they met, where this happened and what he did.”

Weinstein denies having non-consensual sex with anyone.

But investigations are also underway in London and Los Angeles and a senior sex crimes prosecutor is assigned to the inquiry in New York.
