Twitter employee deactives Trump account on last day at work

A Twitter employee took advantage of their last day in the office to temporarily disable the account of Donald Trump.

@readldonaldtrump was offline for 11 minutes around midnight CET and anyone trying to visit the profile page was met with an error message.

“Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review,” Twitter said in a statement, after initially putting the incident down to “human error.”

Trump has more than 40 million followers on Twitter and it has become his principle means of communication by allowing him to bypass traditional press conferences and media briefings.
