Picasso, génie solitaire et Irving Penn, photographe persévérant, se rencontrent non loin de Cannes en 1957. Maria Morris Hambourg, la co-commissaire de l’exposition, nous raconte une séance photo compliquée, ou la mauvaise volonté du peintre et la ténacité calme du photographe se sont affrontées jusqu'à l’obtention d’un cliché exceptionnel.
