State Unit of India Medical Association (IMA) has called for a voluntary Bandh of all private hospitals and private clinics on November 3 against implementation of Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The Karnataka unit of the Indian Medical Association has called for a statewide bandh of doctors on Friday. Hundreds of doctors will take out a rally protesting the government's new amendment bill that seeks to fix rates of treatments at private hospitals. The Karnataka Private Medical Establishments (Amendment) Bill, 2017, was tabled in the assembly by health minister Ramesh Kumar. The bill seeks to regulate only private hospitals and keeps government facilities out of its purview. While the government has called it a move to save innocent poor patients from being victimized by private hospitals, doctors have called it unfair. Several doctors association have extended support to the strike.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಪ್ರೈವೇಟ್ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಎಷ್ಟಾಬ್ಲಿಷ್ ಮೆಂಟ್ ಮಸೂದೆಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ ತರಲು ಹೊರಟಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ತೀವ್ರ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನಡೆಯನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸಿ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 3 ರಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸೇವೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಿವೆ. ಮುಂಬರುವ ವಿಧಾನಮಂಡಲ ಅಧಿವೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಈ ನೂತನ ಮಸೂದೆ ಮಂಡಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದು ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ತೀವ್ರ ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 3 ರಂದು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸೇವೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ಮೆಡಿಕಲ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಘಟಕದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡಾ. ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಭಟ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ನವೆಂಬರ್ 3 ರಂದು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸೇವೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ನವೆಂಬರ್ 3 ರ ಮುಂಜಾನೆ 6 ಗಂಟೆಯಿಂದ ಮರುದಿನ ನವೆಂಬರ್ 4 ರ ಮುಂಜಾನೆ 6 ರವರೆಗೆ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಸೇವೆ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸಲಿವೆ.
