Minimum wage is decided based on region & socioeconomic factors

Deputy Minister of Human Resources Ismail Abd Muttalib says that the minimum wage in Malaysia differs across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan as it takes into consideration the socioeconomic factors of the region.
He said that the minimum wage calculation was as per the National Eages Consultative Council Act 2011.
According to him the next calculation of the minimum wage will be in 2018.
